Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of NarrateAI ("Service"), operated by NarrateAI at getnarrateai.com. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

NarrateAI is an AI-powered financial report narration tool. It accepts financial data (uploaded as CSV/Excel or connected via QuickBooks or Xero OAuth) and generates written narrative reports including executive summaries, variance analysis, and strategic commentary.

2. Account Registration

You must provide a valid email address and create a password to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access at support@getnarrateai.com.

You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to act on behalf of any business you register.

3. Subscription Plans and Billing

NarrateAI offers the following subscription tiers:

• Free — 2 reports per month at no charge
• Starter — $49/month, 10 reports per month
• Pro — $149/month, unlimited reports

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal in your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period with no refunds for the remaining period.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to registered users.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
• Upload financial data belonging to third parties without their authorisation
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying AI models or prompts
• Use automated scripts to generate reports in excess of your plan limits
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent
• Upload files containing malware or malicious code

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Reports generated by NarrateAI are produced by an AI language model (Anthropic Claude) and are provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional financial, accounting, investment, tax, or legal advice. You should not rely on AI-generated narratives as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and verifying all report content before sharing it with stakeholders, investors, or regulators.

6. Third-Party Integrations

When you connect QuickBooks or Xero, you authorise NarrateAI to access your accounting data via OAuth on your behalf. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights and permissions to connect those accounts. We are not responsible for the accuracy of data provided by third-party accounting platforms.

You may disconnect integrations at any time from Settings → Integrations. Disconnecting revokes our access and deletes your stored OAuth tokens.

7. Intellectual Property

You retain all ownership of the financial data you upload or connect. The reports generated from your data belong to you.

The NarrateAI platform, brand, software, and underlying prompts are the intellectual property of NarrateAI. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works of the Service itself.

8. Data and Privacy

Our collection and use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NarrateAI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@getnarrateai.com. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your access to the Service ends and your data will be deleted within 30 days.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Illinois.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
